Where has this summer gone? It is, unbelieveably, the end of August. The state fair begins this week. I've had a very productive summer, but I've missed out on a lot of the fun extracurricular things I always do. I need to watch this in the future.

Lazy Sunday
Off week from training, beautiful day outside. I'm practicing extreme laziness. Mountain biking once the trails are fully dry later this week.

Lazy Saturday...
Made it back home from Chicago on Thursday, considering the roadblocks put in my way by the site I was pleased with how things turned out. The system I was installing actually ended up being completely functional, there are just a few things that HP will have to come out and fix before it's truly legit.
And now we're on to the weekend. Already tore it up at the gym for awhile this morning, now it's on to the end of the football season. Ask any football fan and they'll tell you that right now is simultaneously the best and the worst part of the year. The best because it's the playoffs and typically you're going to see some pretty good games. The worst because the realization hits you that the season is almost over and that with the exception of draft weekend you've basically got nothing to look forward to until mid-August. Oh well...the Cardinals-Saints game tonight should be a good one, we'll follow that up tomorrow with Cowboys-Vikings.
Good luck to the old guys pulling the trigger in those games...Warner and Favre. It's a pretty strange sensation to look up and realize that the graybeards of the league (who are pretty damn good) are your age. I'm getting old...

More customer foolishness
Finished the deployment after much struggle and untangling. Time for paperwork to be done and signoff gotten. But wait! My customer-side contact has decided to take the day off, even though I told him I'd need him this afternoon. Well-played genius, well-played.

Customer
Arrived at a customer site today for an install. These people have been totally incompetent throughout the planning process. Probably shouldn't be surprised then that the entire project is behind due to their stupidity. Today was a circus.

Ahoy!
Went for a swim workout this morning and saw something truly impressive. Generally speaking truly huge people are often somewhat uncoordinated. They just seem to have a difficult time with proprioception. Those that aren't uncoordinated are typically snatched up quickly by football or basketball coaches. Well, this morning I saw an NFL-sized guy who swam like me. Didn't have quite the speed but the technique and comfort in the water was all there. It was really cool to see.
